Terms & Conditions for using Redbeck Rabbit Boarding

1.1 Minimum Stay
Our minimum booking period is 4 days, typically Monday to Thursday or Friday to Monday.

1.2 Booking Confirmation
Bookings are only confirmed once a completed and signed booking form has been received and a formal booking confirmation invoice has been sent and acknowledged.

1.3 Payment Terms
Full payment must be made by bank transfer at least 7 days before arrival.
Boarding fees are non-refundable once paid, even if your pet is collected early.
Cancellations are at Redbeck’s discretion and refunds may be considered only if the cancelled slot can be rebooked.

1.4 Changes & Extensions
Early collection does not entitle a refund.
Extensions depend on availability and will be charged at the current daily rate.
During peak periods, we may not be able to extend boarding. Your emergency contact must be prepared to collect the animal.

1.5 Abandonment Clause
If pets are not collected within 5 days of the agreed date and we are unable to contact you, we will assume the pet has been abandoned and initiate legal proceedings for ongoing costs.

  • Mon–Fri: 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • Sat: 10:00am – 4:00pm (by appointment only)
  • Closed: Sundays and Bank Holidays (including Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Easter)

Please stick to your agreed times. If delayed, call us in advance. Late arrivals affect others and may not be accommodated.

3.1 General Health
We reserve the right to refuse boarding to any pet showing signs of illness, injury, or disease. This includes animals not receiving veterinary care for an ongoing condition. All medical issues must be discussed with us prior to boarding. A brief health check (approx. 5 minutes) will be carried out on arrival to ensure the wellbeing of all residents.

3.2 Contagious Conditions
We do not accept animals with contagious diseases or parasites, including:

  • Pasteurella or vent disease in rabbits
  • Chronic mange or parasitic infections in guinea pigs

3.3 Vaccinations

  • Rabbits must be fully vaccinated against Myxomatosis, RHD1 and RHD2.
Proof must be uploaded to the booking form or verified via an email from your vet.
  • We do not accept unvaccinated rabbits.
  • Guinea pigs do not require vaccinations, though a basic health check is still required.

3.4 Neutering & Reproduction

  • We do not accept un-neutered male rabbits. Neutering must be done at least 12 weeks prior.
  • Females must be spayed unless agreed otherwise at booking.
  • We do not accept pregnant animals. If a sow gives birth while boarding, she and her litter will remain with us until weaned—additional costs will apply.

.

4.1 Ongoing Medication
We can administer prescribed medications for non-contagious conditions with written consent.
Medications must be provided in sufficient quantity. A small fee may apply.
We are not veterinary professionals and accept no liability for medical errors. Our insurance does not cover such issues.

4.2 Emergencies & Death
Should your pet become ill, we will seek veterinary care and inform you.
All vet fees incurred are the owner’s responsibility.
In the event of death, we will notify you. If contact cannot be made, your pet will be stored respectfully until your return.

Pets are boarded entirely at the owner’s risk. We accept no liability for illness or death, including (but not limited to): Myxomatosis, RHD1, RHD2, E. Cuniculi, fly strike, mites, or other conditions.

We recommend that all rabbits be treated against E. Cuniculi. While not mandatory, this proactive step can help reduce the risk of this potentially serious condition.

5.1 Feeding

  • We provide fresh vegetables, fruit, treats, and top-quality farm hay.
  • Owners must provide the pet’s usual dry food unless using Burgess Excel or Science Selective.

5.2 Accommodation

  • Pets are housed individually unless booked as a bonded pair.
  • No animals will be allowed to mix with others outside their household.

5.3 Bonded Pairs

  • Bonded pairs must have been living together for at least 3 months.
  • We accept no liability if bonds break during boarding. If serious aggression occurs, the pets will be separated—extra fees will apply.

5.4 Fly Strike

  • We carry out regular hygiene checks, including bottom checks.
  • Fly strike cannot be fully prevented—especially in overweight or soiled rabbits.
  • We strongly recommend treatment with RearGuard prior to boarding. Owners who decline do so at their own risk.

6.1 Emergency Contact
All boarders must have an emergency contact listed on the booking form who can collect the pet in your absence or make urgent decisions. This is particularly important during peak periods or in the event of a health emergency.

6.2 Personal Belongings
You are welcome to bring your pet’s favourite toys, bedding, or accessories to help them settle. However, we cannot guarantee the return of any items left with your pet and accept no responsibility for loss or damage.

6.3 Conduct & Behaviour
Abusive or threatening behaviour towards our staff will result in a permanent ban and potential legal action.

6.4 Photography & Media
We may take photographs of boarding pets for our website or social media.
Please inform us in writing if you do not want your pet photographed
