At Redbeck Rabbit Boarding, Halloween always had an eerie charm. The animals seemed more restless as the fog rolled in, and the wind howled through the trees that surrounded the property. Claudia had heard the stories from locals about a strange legend tied to the land—an ancient guardian said to roam these parts on Halloween night. But, like any rational woman of the modern world, she chalked it up to old wives' tales.

That Halloween night, as Claudia finished closing up the boarding , a strange feeling prickled the back of her neck. The rabbits were unsettled, thumping their feet against the hay, their ears twitching with unease. "Settle down, you lot," she muttered, trying to shake the creeping chill from his spine.

The air grew heavier, fog wrapping itself around the property like ghostly fingers. The distant hoot of an owl echoed, but it was the silence that followed that felt unnatural. As Claudia turned to lock the gate, a soft thud sounded from the far end of the yard, near the old hollow oak tree that had been standing long before Redbeck existed.

Curiosity—or perhaps something deeper—pulled her closer. That’s when she saw it.

Emerging from the fog was a hare unlike any he had ever seen. Its fur was translucent, shimmering in the pale moonlight, and its eyes—its eyes glowed with a fierce golden-red, as if they were embers burning from another world. It was large, larger than any hare should be, and it stood with a regal presence that made Claudia freeze in her tracks.

The stories were true.

This was no ordinary hare; it was the legendary guardian of the land, a spectral protector of Redbeck. The villagers had called it "The Phantom Hare," said to appear only on Halloween when the veil between the living and the dead was thinnest. It was rumoured to protect the animals that lived here, watching over them from the shadows.

The hare stared at Claudia, its golden-red eyes locking with her as if searching her soul. Claudia felt a strange calm wash over her, though her heart raced. The air around them grew still, and in that moment, it was as if the land itself paused to watch the ghostly creature.

Then, in a sudden movement, the hare bounded toward the old oak tree, its form becoming one with the mist as it disappeared into the shadows. The fog thickened again, and the eerie silence returned, broken only by the distant calls of the wind.

Shaken but oddly comforted, Claudia stood there for a moment longer, staring at the spot where the ghostly hare had vanished. she had been granted a glimpse of Redbeck's true guardian. The legend was alive.

The rabbits in the cottages had settled. Peace had returned to the land—for now. Claudia turned back to the house, a wry smile playing on her lips. Perhaps the old stories weren’t just tales after all. Maybe Redbeck truly was under the protection of something far older, far wiser, and far more powerful than anyone could imagine.

As she locked the gate behind her, Claudia muttered softly, "Happy Halloween, old friend. Then she patted flint hiding under the kitchen table and turn off the lights.

I love this 🎃 so atmospheric 🥰 thank you for sharing xx

A charming tale that’s brightened up my day👏🌟

🐇 Addressing VHD – Our Commitment to Keeping Your Pets Safe 🐾

We’ve had a few questions recently about whether we’ve changed anything to address the risk of Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (VHD) in rabbits. The short answer is: not really. Why? Because from day one, we've always taken this risk seriously and implemented strict biosecurity measures behind the scenes! 💪

What does this mean for you and your pets? Here’s a reminder of what we’re doing to keep everyone safe:

1️⃣ Only Vaccinated Animals Allowed – This has always been our policy. No exceptions. We’ll make sure your furry friend is protected before they stay with us.

2️⃣ Health Checks on Admission & Release – Your pet gets a thorough check-up when they arrive and before they leave to ensure they're in tip-top condition.

3️⃣ No Sick Animals Accepted – If any animal shows signs of illness, we’ll refer them to veterinary care immediately. 🏥

4️⃣ Strict Cleaning & Disinfection – All surfaces are thoroughly cleaned before disinfection. We use Virkon S, a powerful disinfectant, on floors, surfaces, and equipment. Don’t worry—food and water bowls are rinsed and dried before use! 🌊

5️⃣ Paths & Runs Disinfected Weekly – We make sure low-risk areas like paths and runs are disinfected at least once a week or before introducing new pets.

6️⃣ Pet Carriers Sprayed Before Storage – We’re now being even more vigilant by spraying all pet carriers with disinfectant before putting them away. 🚿

7️⃣ Foot Baths & Hand Washing – We’re asking everyone to use the foot baths more frequently (no designer shoes, slippers, or flip-flops... unless you want to take home the sweet smell of Virkon! 😜). And of course, hand washing is essential when working with your pets and their carriers.

We're confident these measures will continue to keep your pets safe and healthy during their stay with us. Your peace of mind is our top priority, and we’re always here to answer any questions! 🐾✨

Stay safe, and we’ll see you soon at Redbeck Rabbit Boarding! 🐰❤️

How Redbeck Rabbit Boarding Addresses All Your Rabbit’s Needs
At Redbeck Rabbit Boarding, we understand that a hutch alone is not enough to meet the needs of your beloved rabbits. That’s why we’ve gone above and beyond to create an environment that ensures your rabbit not only stays healthy but also thrives during their stay with us. Here’s how we address each of the essential requirements for your rabbit’s well-being:

1. Space and Exercise: Encouraging Natural Behaviors
Rabbits are active animals that need space to hop, run, and, of course, perform their joyful "binkies." At Redbeck Rabbit Boarding, each of our enclosures is designed to provide ample room for your rabbit to exercise. Our cottages offer both a spacious indoor area and a large outdoor run, allowing your rabbit to stretch out, explore, and engage in natural behaviors. This setup ensures that your rabbit gets the physical activity they need to maintain strong muscles and bones, reducing the risk of health issues like obesity and joint problems.

2. Mental Stimulation: Keeping Your Rabbit Happy and Engaged
We know how important mental stimulation is for rabbits. That’s why our enclosures are equipped with a variety of enrichment items, including tunnels and chew toys.
These features encourage your rabbit to explore and play, keeping their mind sharp and their spirits high. By providing an environment that mimics their natural habitat, we help prevent boredom and stress, ensuring that your rabbit stays happy and engaged throughout their stay.

3. Social Interaction: A Home Away from Home
Rabbits are social creatures, and we make sure they get the interaction they crave. Whether your rabbit enjoys the company of other rabbits or prefers human interaction, our team is dedicated to providing the attention they need. We spend time with each rabbit daily, ensuring they feel loved and secure, just like they would at home. For bonded pairs, we offer shared enclosures so they can stay together, reducing stress and enhancing their comfort.

4. Environmental Enrichment: More Than Just a Hutch
At Redbeck Rabbit Boarding, we believe that a hutch should be just one part of a rabbit’s living space, not the entirety of it. That’s why our enclosures include both sheltered indoor spaces and large outdoor runs where rabbits can chew, and forage to their heart’s content. Our setup provides the perfect balance of protection and freedom, allowing your rabbit to engage in the activities they love while staying safe from the elements.

5. Exposure to Natural Light: Promoting Healthy Vitamin D Levels
We recognize the importance of natural light for your rabbit’s health. Our outdoor runs are designed to allow safe exposure to sunlight, helping your rabbit synthesize Vitamin D, which is crucial for calcium absorption and bone strength. For rabbits that prefer indoor environments, we ensure they have access to well-lit areas with plenty of natural light, replicating the benefits they would get from spending time outdoors.

6. Protection from the Elements: Comfort in Any Weather
Our enclosures are designed to provide optimal protection from extreme weather conditions. In winter, our rabbits enjoy cozy, insulated indoor spaces that keep them warm, while in summer, our well-ventilated and shaded outdoor runs protect them from overheating. We’ve carefully designed our facilities to ensure that your rabbit is comfortable, no matter the weather, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands.

Why Choose Redbeck Rabbit Boarding?
At Redbeck Rabbit Boarding, we don’t just provide a place for your rabbit to stay—we offer a home away from home where they can thrive. Our commitment to creating a safe, spacious, and enriching environment means that your rabbit will receive the highest standard of care, tailored to meet their unique needs. We’re not just about providing a service; we’re about ensuring your rabbit is as happy and healthy as they can be, so you can rest easy knowing they’re well taken care of.

So, if you want more than just a hutch for your rabbit, choose Redbeck Rabbit Boarding, where we make every effort to give your rabbit the best possible experience. Because we know, just like you do, that your rabbit deserves nothing less.

Rabbits require just one vaccine yearly (Nobivac Plus) which covers for both strains of VHD & Myxi.
It is very easy for your rabbit to get VHD. It can be in hay (even shop bought), it can live on your clothes, shoes from being outside, dogs & cats, wildlife etc.

We cannot board your rabbit/s if not vaccinated. It will void our insurance and we do not want to put any of our guests at risk.
NO VACCINE. NO STAY.
